Advanced Construction for Administrators

The Story

It was as if Kevin Truly walked into someone else’s nightmare. 400 million dollars’ worth of projects and only 375 million dollars to make them happen. There was a promise to the voters and it must be kept. Whatever issues happened with the procurement happened before he got to the district. After surveying the situation he inherited; he was able to conclude two things. 

1) He had a well-meaning but inexperienced procurement specialist named Ted Brown who was eager to learn but in need of guidance. 

2) He was going to have to squeeze every dollar out of every contract he signed to land this module on the moon.  Mission control could not be lacking here. Time was running out, the dollars were strained to their maximum potential and there was no choice but to produce results!

This session will follow Kevin on his journey to the other side of the bond. 

The Training

Where the “Construction Boot Camp for New Construction Administrators” course covered Ted Brown’s journey through the procurement side, this training will begin there and show you what to expect from your contractors and design professionals. It will cover the unique features and issues to watch out for when you select a method of delivery for a project. It will also explain how to address problems as they arise during the construction project so that you get what you agreed to in the contract. With this knowledge, you increase your chances for success. If you apply what you learn in this training you should be able to spend more time enjoying your facility and less time dealing with lingering construction disputes.

This training is for people who want to learn how to handle construction projects with confidence. That includes Superintendents, CFOs, Assistant Superintendents, District Construction Professionals, Board Members, Purchasing and Procurement Managers, Coordinators, Agents, Specialists, Directors, Contract Coordinators, Business Managers, Bond Professionals, Controllers, Auditors, Buyers, Finance Directors, Facilities Directors, Business Services and Operations Directors, Accounting Directors, and Accountants.

David Hansen will be your trainer for this session. The session is part legal, part practical and all original. We feel confident in saying that you have never been to a training like this before. Continuing Education Credit
