Tyler is a senior associate in our Austin office. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Baylor University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law.

Tyler is a trusted legal advisor with a proven track record of success in representing school districts across Texas in litigation involving civil rights, employment law, and other complex legal issues. Tyler works extensively with Texas schools in matters involving personnel, student issues, board governance, special education, and school safety and security.

In addition to his litigation experience, Tyler is a regular speaker for school districts and state educational organizations, frequently presenting on topics such as personnel management, school safety, and open government compliance. His ability to communicate complex legal concepts in an accessible manner has made him a valuable resource for educators and administrators alike.

Tyler’s commitment to education runs deep. Raised in a family of educators—his mother a former high school principal and school board member, and his father a former ag teacher—Tyler has a personal connection to the field. He has also dedicated significant time to mentoring youth, coaching high school cross-examination debate, and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

While in law school, Tyler demonstrated his leadership and academic excellence as an Executive Editor for both the Energy Law Journal and The Year in Review, a publication of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources. This experience honed his research and writing skills, which he now applies to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.

Tyler is admitted to practice in the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Council of School Attorneys.

Tyler’s paralegal is Andrea Stevens.
