The Department of Labor has announced a new Final Rule Defining and Delimiting the Exemptions for Executive, Administrative, Professional, Outside Sales, and Computer Employees, which amends the regulations at 29 CFR part 541 under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This Rule is effective July 1, 2024, and raises the annual salary-level threshold from $35,568 to $58,656. Many previously exempt employees making less than that amount will now need to be paid overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week.
In this session we review the Final Rule in detail and provide information on how to comply with the law, as well as help you assess the impact it will have on your proposed budgets this cycle.
