This 45-minute training will clarify the Constitutional rights that all people, including students, have in their cell phones. We discuss when it’s appropriate by law to search a cell phone, how wide the search can be, when you should contact law enforcement, and the steps to follow if you discover something you didn’t expect to see.
We also analyze the protected digital speech rights established in the Mahanoy Supreme Court case and other caselaw, what to do when you suspect cyberbullying, and how to properly act in cases of suspected child pornography.
